About MANA
About us
MANA (Maharashtrian artists of North America) is a group of Maharashtrian artists that are engaged in creating works of art in watercolor, oil, acrylics, pen, pencil and photography. There are more than 125 artists in our online community (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and blog sites).
We conduct the following activities regularly:
- Members showcase their artwork and other accomplishments (participation in shows, awards and other recognition) on WhatsApp and Facebook. A few members publish on Instagram and develop their own blogs.
- Quarterly online exhibition when members participate to do a show & tell of their artwork. Often times an outside artist is invited to provide feedback and participate in showing their own artwork.
- Well-known members and world-famous artists are invited to demo different art techniques and conduct workshops
- Members are invited monthly to share their art work in a specific media
Our Mission
The purpose of our organization is to promote the appreciation of “Fine Arts” within the Marathi community in North America. It is our mission to provide Maharashtrian artists a common platform in order to develop as artists and provide an opportunity to exhibit their artwork in shows.
Our History and BMM Affiliation
Back in the year 2015, few local Marathi artists decided to do a Fine Art show during Ganesh Utsav in Los Angeles. At that time, we realized that there are quite a few Marathi Artists in Los Angeles area. A group called MALA - Maharashtrian Artists of Los Angeles was born, to foster the appreciation of the Fine Arts.
In Nov 2020, its name was changed to MANA - Maharashtrian Artists of North America to meet the needs of artists in North America.
“MANA” as a premier creative project of BMM (Bruhan Maharashtra Mandal) for all the Maharashtrian artists of North America. Being a project of BMM, MANA is not-for-profit organization 501 c(3).
